Skincare Dupes: Are They Worth Searching For?

I am not a fan of skincare dupes. Let me start off with that. I truly believe every product is somewhat formulated differently. There can be come copycats, however if a product is cheaper it can be just as good, if not better than the supposed “dupe.” Often times the only thing that is considered to be a “dupe” is, the price tag. We all want that high end option for the cheaper price tag. I am not necessarily interested in the price tag so much as, I just want to make sure that I am not being ripped off by some of these high end companies that formulate products that contain ingredients that can be found in your local drugstore. Trust me this happens all the time!

I just search for good ingredients that will help my skin rather than destroy it. I don’t need fancy scents in my skincare in order for me to feel luxurious. I have played in the dupe world when it came to makeup and skincare and sometimes the “high-end” product just can’t be beat. Sometimes these cheaper dupes are nothing like the high-end product. The lesson here is, focus on the ingredients of a product. Buy into what is good for your skin. I know all of us are on a budget and that is completely okay if you can only afford drugstore skincare. There is nothing wrong with that. Do not ever think that only the best is high-end because that is not the case. Let me tell you when I was in high-school and had a minimum wage paid job, I was burning my money on all this high-end stuff. Now, that I have a full time salary job my skincare routine has completely switched to what works and let me tell you most of the products that work for me can be found at the good old drugstore! Do not play into the marketing and packaging of it all. It will get you, I promise we have all been sucked in.

Compare the ingredients of two products, rather than the price tag.

Figure out your skin type and buy what your skin needs rather than what is being hyped at the time! Keeping up with the dupes can break the bank!

My Experience With Slugging Skincare

I normally do not follow the latest beauty “trends.” Since I have sensitive skin I do not like to play around with certain skincare tips & tricks! Slugging I played into. If you do not know what slugging is, slugging is a method that originated in K-Beauty. If you have dry skin slugging will work well for you. Tap gently while applying Vaseline on your face before bed as your last step in your routine, to help lock in moisture and keep your skin feeling baby soft.

What has been my experience?

I do not “lather” the vaseline rather tap gently in my skin. The general areas I focus the vaseline on is, in the middle of my forehead, cheeks & chin area. I have noticed such a difference in my dry skin since using this method. I feel my skin looks more pump and my water loss has become resurfaced. Applying makeup to my skin has become such a smooth experience because my dry skin has improved quite a bit!

Does it clogs pores?

Often times there are those skincare rumours that get passed around and many skincare consumers eventually think that these rumours are the truth. Petroleum jelly doesn’t clog pores! My grandmother would use vaseline as a skincare tool for everything. Growing up I never understood her love for vaseline but now I do. Petroleum jelly is a constant in my skincare routine and I couldn’t imagine living without it.

When you are slugging make sure this is done only before bed. Your skin penetrates at night. Think of it this way… your skin instead of protecting itself during the day has time at night to repair itself. Help your skin out by applying the correct products. Another helpful tip is to make sure you aren’t applying your nightly skincare routine right before bed. You don’t want your pillow to smear off everything you just applied. Try starting your wind down routine about 20 minutes before laying your head on the pillow.

Switching up your routine every-other night is helpful! I do not slug when I have applied my retnoid, rather I interchange the days and use the slugging method on my hydration nights. Remember to always research ahead of time about the type of products you are applying and the affects they will have when applying certain ingredients together. Be careful!

Try out slugging and let me know what your experience its like! If you have dry skin, I promise you, you will notice a difference.

How To Calm Down Rosacea

Having rosacea sucks… I know. My rosacea developed as soon as I became an adult. Can you cure rosacea, well the simple answer is no. Unfortunately there is not any cure. I know there are some people that use laser treatments for helping removal but honestly I do not know if that is a permanent cure. When my rosacea started to develop I mistaken mine for adult acne. Please make sure if you have rosacea or any skin condition that you consult a dermatologist first. Everyone’s skin is different. I am just sharing my experience on how I calm down my rosacea when I tend to get flare ups. Let’s dive into some common rosacea triggers.

My rosacea triggers are as follows: wine, sun exposure & cold weather/wind. Everyone’s triggers are different but some of the triggers I have are quite common. I know it’s hard to avoid these triggers and some will tell you to avoid them completely… look i’m not gonna give up wine lol… but I know that I need to minimize or avoid these triggers as much as I can. Everyone should be wearing sunscreen everyday, however those with rosacea it really is a must! What has helped my rosacea this past year is applying sunscreen daily. I have noticed a tremendous difference in my skin. Both sunscreens pictured below are some great options. Apply a teaspoon amount every morning and make sure to reapply. SPF is the last step in your routine to apply. It is the protective film on your skin that will benefit your skin as you age.

Avoid fragrance. If you have rosacea you have more sensitive skin. Fragrance in skincare products can irritate your skin. I have written a past blog on why I dislike fragrance in skincare, you can read that blog here. My best advice is, if you have rosacea try not to mess around too much with the “natural” side of the market when it comes to skincare. I thought before that “natural” skincare is the only remedy to help my rosacea. That couldn’t be further from the truth. The reason why “natural” skincare is not the way to go if you have rosacea, is because typically in “natural” skincare there are the use of essential oils in the products that can irritate the skin. Essential oils are not regulated. I have used products with essential oils and still try some out that are on the market. I simply do this because of what I do. I love to try the latest and greatest and report it all to you but honestly, if I was not blogging my skincare routine would consist of all dermatologist recommended products without fragrance.

If you have rosacea you HAVE to moisturize. Moisturizer helps relieve your skin of any irritation. With rosacea you have to build a strong moisture barrier. What is a moisture barrier you ask? A moisture barrier helps protects the skin from dehydration and repels irritants/ bacteria that develops in the air throughout the day. The CeraVe moisturizing cream is what I am currently using and I absolutely love it for my body & face. It is super moisturizing and soothing.

Rosacea does not go away, I know it sucks but I am here to help from my personal experience. If you have any questions please ask away. My greatest advice for someone with rosacea is to visit a dermatologist for help and recommendations. Happy Skincare! XO!

Simplify Your Skincare Routine With Three Easy Steps!

All of us can get lost in the skincare market! Truly, you can ruin your skin by applying and introducing WAY TOO MANY products to it! There are so many products on the market that contain empty promises. I work a career in marketing and know how the behind the scenes work. In my personal negative opinion, most of the time these “new” products are basically the same thing over and over again but in new packaging. This doesn’t happen all the time and some new formulations are great and ground breaking but, all I am saying is try not to be caught up in the marketing bullshit. (Theres some advice from a marketer lol) If your skin is breaking out or just not improving take it down to 3 steps! STEP 1: Cleanser. STEP 2: Moisturizer. STEP 3: SPF. I promise you, a difference in your skin will appear.

STEP 1: Cleanser

Especially when wearing sunscreen everyday you must cleanse your skin. Make sure to take the everyday grime off your skin. Cleaning that bacteria everyday will reduce acne. Find one that will suit your skin type. Your skin type really depends on the hydration level of your face. What can be helpful as a test to figure out what your skin type is; is to wash your face with a gentle cleanser. After your face is washed and dried, how do you feel? If your skin feels tight you most likely have dry skin. If you start to see some oil developments on your forehead for example, you may have oily skin. If you see/feel both results you can have combination skin. Some people have normal skin and would not see much oil development and will not feel a tightness to the skin. I personally struggle with dry skin so, any hydrating cleanser works for me. Although, if you do have dry skin try not to strip it too much. Sometimes when I wake up I simply use water on my face as my “cleanser”. It is so important to listen to your skin. Your skin will show you how its feeling!

STEP 2: Moisturizer

Regardless of your skin type moisturizing your skin keeps the skin hydrated and healthy. As you age, the skin tends to become more dry. By moisturizing your skin you are regenerating cells that will in return show a natural glow. Do not apply your moisturizer on dry skin. I have made this mistake for years! Work in the products you used before hand and let your moisturizer absorb into your damp skin. This helps your moisturizer lock in the moisture into your skin. I swear this will become a game changer!

STEP 3: SPF

Your skins exposure to the sun is one of the main signs of aging. SPF is so important and should be used on your skin everyday. Even indoors! Make this apart of your routine. I know we are all guilty of not applying everyday. What has helped me to remember to apply it every single morning is to make my skincare routine more simple. I only use these three steps in the morning and I will still make it out the door in good timing. Especially in the mornings your skin does not need a-lot. There are all types of sunscreens out there, try and find one that you will enjoy. There are few on the market that does not leave a white cast once applied to the skin. The sunscreen I am currently obsessed with is the La Roche-Posay Anthelios Lightweight Lotion SPF 30. This lotion does not leave a white cast on me. I like the dewy affect that some sunscreens can leave on your face because I have dry skin. La Roche-Posay Anthelios Lightweight Lotion gives me that dewy affect.

I didn’t start to see results in my skin until I simplified my routine. Your skin doesn’t need a-lot to improve! Keep it simple and use exactly what your skin needs. You will start to see results. If you are a young teen or have one in your life that is starting skincare for the first time, please share this advice with them. They will thank you in years time. Simplifying your routine is the best skincare advice anyone can receive!

Skincare Products To Use During The Time Of The Month

During the time of the month it is common to break out… it is the WORST! This is quite common for many women. I even notice that my skin tends to get even more sensitive around the time of the month. I use a retinoid every other day, during the week. Retinoid does tend to help breakouts however, during the time of the month my skin is extra sensitive and does not react well to retinoid. This goes without saying but during the time of the month… keep your routine simple. Go back to basics. Cleanse your skin, moisturize & apply sunscreen. There are a few products that can help you along the way that can minimize breakouts.

Mighty Patch

This hit the internet in 2020 and everyone seemed to have purchased these. They are quite satisfying… when they work properly. These patches work more on white heads. What I love about these patches is that it reduces the urge to touch the acne on my face. While staring at a computer all day for work, I subconsciously touch my face which is absolutely terrible.. but it happens! Try not to pop your pimples, it will cause damage overtime. These patches protect and help the pimples heal faster. The patches contain hydrocolloid. Hydrocolloid is an ingredient that takes out the fluid and pus and then forms a gel. You will not regret trying these patches out!

Tiger Grass Serum

I have used this serum for a long time! If you have read my blog before you would have seen this serum! The hype is real! It is an overnight fix. It calms down my redness and reduces acne. Now I know there is some criticism about this product because it includes essential oils. Essential oils can break people out. I have sensitive skin and I have never had a breakout from this product. However, everyones skin is different so please keep that in mind. The special ingredient about this product is, Cica. Cica (Tiger grass) has been said to contain anti-inflammatory properties which helps with redness. Remember to do a patch test first before applying to skin. Now, I am usually a fragrance free type of girl but this product is my exception. I can’t stop using it! It gets me through that dreadful period acne week.

Moisturizing Cream

I feel like there has been a misconception about not applying moisturizer while you have acne. This is completely false, in my opinion. Do not try to “dry out” acne. Your skin needs to be moisturized. You can read here to my other blog about the importance of moisturizing. Moisturizing consistently can prevent future breakouts and help prevent wrinkles/signs of aging. This CeraVe moisturizer is absolutely incredible. It contains hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid boosts hydration in your skin and can induce a plump appearance. Dryness can cause irritation and can make the acne on your face worse. Moisturizing is a good thing and should be applied everyday! If you tend to have oily skin you may want to try out a moisturizer that is lighter, but please moisturize!

Another tip, during the time of the month, spoil yourself. Dedicate more time for self-care, you deserve it!

4 Reasons Why Your Skincare Doesn’t Work

I feel the frustration. You spent all this money on a new skincare routine, you have been trying it out for the last couple of months, and you don’t see results! So now WHAT? There can be a couple of reasons why you are not seeing positive results from your skincare routine! We have all been there and I’m about to break it down for you! Please try not to be discouraged, lets go through this skincare journey together!

1. The products that you purchased aren’t right for your skin!

Research! Research! Research! I cannot express this enough! Just because I may recommend a product or other beauty bloggers may recommend a product, it does not mean that it will be right for your skin! What is right for me may not be right for you, everyone skin is different. Simply take everything you see and read, as a recommendation. I try to cut through the bullshit on the market and I hate the feeling of being ripped off. I have problematic skin, I use this platform to inform others like me, that love skincare. Knowing your skin type this key. That is why most times, when I follow certain influencersI tend to follow those that have similarities to me and my skin. I know what it is like, there is this new and improved product on the market that everyone is loving and you think? OMG I NEED THAT! Well it could work for you but often times than not, if you do not do your research beforehand… it may not. Know your skin type and know what you want to achieve in your skin. How do I know my skin type, you may ask? Your skin type really depends on the hydration level of your face. What can be helpful as a test to figure this out, is to wash your face with a gentle cleanser. After your face is washed and dried, how do you feel? If your skin feels tight you most likely have dry skin. If you start to see some oil developments on your forehead for example, you may have oily skin. If you see/feel both results you have combination skin. Some people have normal skin and would not see much oil development and will not feel a tightness to the skin. Research the ingredients. Skincare became a game changer for my skin once I researched and understood the types of ingredients that are in my products. Once you start researching you will start noticing the key ingredients in good skincare, that will be right for your skin.

2. Your product order on your face may be incorrect.

I know the day is long, I know that by the end of it most of us are exhausted. When you get to your skin care routine at night, I know it is much easier to sort of slab everything on your face, and call it a night. Guess what? If you are the one doing this, you are most likely wasting money and product! You have to give some products time to actually absorb into your skin. Go brush your teeth in between steps or just be patient. Piling everything on at once is not helpful, you will not see results from this. Let those products work! Honestly, what has helped me, is doing my skincare routine at least two hours before my head hits the pillow at night. I realized I would do my skincare routine, to then have it all rub off from my pillow. Let those products absorb into your skin, I cannot reiterate this enough! Also, a big mistake many people do is that they do not know how to properly apply each product as steps onto their skin. Cleanser, actives, Moisturize! Those three steps are a good place to start. If you are putting moisturizer for example over SPF you are defeating the purpose of both products, and they are not going to give your skin the benefits that they should show.

3. Your skin needs something new!

Switch up your routine! I feel as though sometimes my skin gets used to the same products. Switch it up! Please remember, to try not to switch up products too soon in your routine. In order to see progress it takes time. However, if there is a change in season your skin could be craving something richer or thicker in consistency. Pay attention to what your skins needs. At the beginning of this article I talked about knowing your skin type. Keep in mind as the season change your skin will too! I wrote a past article on how to take care of your skin in a cooler climate. Click here to read.

4. Consistency is key!

You will notice a difference in your skin only if you are consistent with a routine. Like anything else, you can’t just workout for one day and expect to be muscular and loose a bunch of weight the very next day! Everything takes time, and that goes for the active ingredients in your products. They need time to work with your skin. What has helped me to stay consistent is to dedicate certain days to certain products. I put my skin on its own schedule. Monday, Wednesday, Friday are retinoid nights; while the other days of the week I focus on Hyaluronic acid as my active for the night. This schedule has helped with consistency!

Skincare should not be hard but sometimes it can be discouraging. When you aren’t seeing results refer back to this article and know you are not alone! Your skin is trying to tell you something most times! Get to know your skin, it will love you for it! Happy Skincare loves!! Lets continue this skincare journey together!

Unnecessary Products In A Skincare Routine

(Based on my opinion)

Skincare is scary. There are so many beauty products on the market that it can become very overwhelming. Over the years I have learned which product to splurge on and which products to save my money on. This takes time to learn. There are so many products on the market that are just not needed. Many products are marketed in a way that will make you feel as though, you need to have them in your skin care routine. Let me tell you, the more simple the better. Especially with problematic skin, you want to make sure that you are not using too many products at once on your skin. We play into the market all the time as consumers. If you want to save a couple of extra bucks you’re on the right page! As a consumer I want to make sure that I am splurging on the right type of products for my skin. There has been so many gimmicks over the years that I have boughten into, just like everyone else. The products featured below are the few products that you can start saving your money on, in your routine. They are not necessary for the everyday skincare routine. I would also like to mention that I am no expert. This is what I have learned and researched. I hate being ripped off and spending unnecessary money on things that are not needed. If you are a student or a young adult and just want to save some money, try to cut the below items out of your routine. This article isn’t to say that you should never spend money on any these products. They just aren’t necessary. We all try to stay on budget. Whenever you have a few extra bucks to spend, you may want to spend it on some of the products featured below. There is nothing wrong with that. Keep in mind I am here to tell you, how you can save on your skincare routine!

Face Masks

As a teenager growing up, face masks were all the rage. As a teen, I understood face masks being marketed as the solution to all my problems. In reality, face masks are not the long term solution. Look, I still purchased face masks from time to time. I just don’t rely on them to provide me long-term results. I look at face masks as more of a luxury. It’s a Friday night or Sunday afternoon, treat myself moment. I just don’t rely on them anymore. I don’t think I’m doing more for my skin while using them. Think about it, the average face mask stays on your skin for 15 minutes max. What is that really going to do for you in the long run? The answer is, NOT MUCH! Do not go out of your way to purchase face masks on a regular basis. Chemical exfoliants will do much better for your skin in the long run! Some face masks are physical exfoliants. Physical exfoliants are quite harsh for the skin. Some physical exfoliates can contain granule beads. Granule beads can tear at your skin. Be very careful and do your research! Be kind to your skin!

Eye Cream

I love a good eye cream. Especially in the winter, you can become so dry around the under eye area. Unfortunately eye creams are marketed to do more for your skin than the regular moisturizer but sometimes Thats all it is… a glorified face moisturizer. You are paying sometimes, two times the price for less product! I still purchase eye creams. However, when I do I make sure the eye cream’s number one ingredient is retinoid. Retinoids help with anti aging. Pay attention to the ingredients that are in your products. Especially when it comes to eye creams. You do not want to be ripped off. Especially when eye creams on average costs more than $30. Do not play into the hype!

Beauty Tools

Please be so careful with the types of beauty tools you use on your skin! Almost every year a new beauty tool comes out that people obsess over! Some are so bad for your skin and can actually lead to further harmful results. The key to the skincare market is to really do research on your own! That is what I have learned. There is some tools to have and use for more of a self-care purpose. For example, the jade roller. It has been said that scientifically there are no real results that comes from it, but they do not cause much damage either. I use my jade roller for fun when I have extra time, but I know I will not get any real lasting results from it. To be honest if I had to go back I would not purchase one to begin with. I could have saved that money for something I really needed or wanted.

Save your money where you can in your skin care routine! I know what it’s like to be on a budget. You want to buy the latest and greatest on the market but sometimes it isn’t worth it. Be careful of the gimmicks. Choose the products your skin needs. Your skin will not regret it, and your pockets will not regret it it. Think about it, the money you do not spend on the gimmicks you can spend elsewhere on other products that you will actually need! I hope this helped! Save your money and buy the correct skincare for your needs!

Skincare is Self-Care: 5 Steps To Better Your Self-Care Routine

As a person that is quite the introvert, that does experience anxiety self-care is how I better myself throughout my week. Taking care of your mental health is just as important as your physical health. Taking time for yourself isn’t selfish, it is necessary. I try to prepare my week on the right note. Self care is crucial for everyone to incorporate in their day to day routine. Your needs are important! Put yourself first. You will not regret it, and guess what? Your are worth it! For a long time I have used skincare as a form of self care. Skincare is my getaway. I have had terrible adult acne, so trying to take care of it makes me feel better. It gives me the confidence to be out in public without makeup on. Skincare is relaxing and can better your self-care. Be good to yourself, you will not regret it. Below I list five steps to better your self-care routine with skincare.

1. Dedicate Time

The hardest part is truly finding the time on a busy schedule. What has helped me to include self care time during my week, is to dedicate a time and a day to look forward to. I use my Sundays as a set time to take care of myself. It is the day before another busy week starts, so I use Sundays as my recharge day. Make this time as part of your routine. Make others know in your household that it is your time and day to take care of yourself. I know for many of you, a day is a bit extreme and hard to dedicate especially when you live with others that need you. When I say take a day it can be just an hour or two of it. It is whatever time you can truly give yourself. What I tend to do is, I take some time in the morning to myself on Sunday and some time right before bed. Give yourself calming moments. If you do not set boundaries for yourself, no one else will.

2. Set The Mood

Make it like an at home spa atmosphere. Play calming music and light a festive candle. Spoil yourself during this time. Zone out! Work weeks are tough and can be overwhelming. You need to check in with yourself and deserve a calming environment. It is true what they say, how you treat others is a reflection of you. If you are feeling overwhelmed others can feel it and see it. Do yourself a favour and recharge!

3. Incorporate Skincare Tools

In your everyday skincare routine the average person on the go does not normally have time to use specific tools. Skincare tools are not necessary for everyday use. Please be careful with the tools that you choose to use on your skin. Some skincare tools depending on what it is, can be embracive. The tool I prefer to use is the face rollers. They don’t do much, but they are relaxing and fun to use. I particularly love using the rollers once I have a face mask on. They elevate a calming experience!

4. Use The Good Stuff

Spoil yourself! I know some of you may be afraid or may not want to use the expensive creams that you have purchased or was gifted, but use your self-care time as that excuse to spoil yourself! Remember skincare expires so use what you can fast! Make yourself feel luxurious. You are worth the hefty price tag!

5. Reflect & Relax Your Mind

Look in the mirror and start saying positive affirmations to yourself. You are worth it! You are strong! You are beautiful! Everyday is precious and not promised, so make sure you are putting yourself first.

How To Budget Your Skincare Routine – Facial Cleanser Edition

I truly believe that you do not need to spend an absurd amount of money on face cleansers. The purpose of face cleansers is to “clean your face” from everyday oil, dirt, and other types of pollutants that land on your skin throughout the day. Dirt and oil can cause acne and other skin problems. You are probably thinking… Well face cleansers are important, so I should find one that is the best of the best. Yes, it is one of the first steps and arguably the most important but as long as you find a cleanser that works well for your skin, you realistically do not need to spend a lot of money on one. The market has gotten so diverse with inexpensive options. When building a routine it can get expensive, and once certain products run out you have to keep repurchasing. Keep your routine attainable. Face cleansers are on your skin for 30 seconds max. Spending more money on your active skincare ingredients is money well spent. Actives are made with a high percentage of ingredients to help your skin for the long run. Prioritize your routine and budget. You do not need to spend more than $20.00 on a facial cleanser. Cerave & Cetaphil have been my go to companies for facial cleansers. What I love specifically about Cerave cleansers is that their packaging is very straight to the point. If you are a beginner in skincare their packaging is not confusing unlike some other brands that have their own names for products. Pictured below is the Cerave Hydrating cleanser. I have dry skin, I live in a colder climate so the hydrating cleanser is the one I go for. As seen on the packaging, it states pretty clearly that it is for Normal to Dry skin. In a previous blog I go into detail on how you can tell what your skin type is. If you are unsure what your skin type is, that is the first step to figure out before purchasing a facial cleanser. Click here for more details.

If you wear makeup and SPF on your face daily, you are going to need to double cleanse your skin. I do not mean use a makeup wipe and then a cleanser… NO! Makeup wipes do not remove all your makeup. What does double cleansing mean? It means cleaning your skin twice before applying any creams or actives to the skin. The cleanse before the cleanse. The facial cleansers that are shown above do not remove makeup and should be used as your second cleanse. Remove all makeup/SPF before using these types of cleansers. I promise you, if you start to double cleanse you will notice such a difference in your skin.

Remember there are great inexpensive options out there. Prioritize what is important for you in your skincare and try not to get sucked into unrealistic marketing tactics. It happens to all of us. Just know, facial cleansers are not a product you need to spend a lot of money on.

The Best Serums For Redness & Dry Skin

If you are a beginner to skincare, serums can be very overwhelming. My advice to choosing serums is to be aware of your problem areas; and to look at what you would like to improve upon. You also need to pay attention to your skin type. Often times skin problems can come from your skin type. The two correlate, most times. For example, my skin tends to peel.. well my skin type is dry/sensitive. I have to be very careful about the ingredients I apply on my skin. Pay attention to the ingredients on the products you are using. Learn ingredients and learn about your skin. Disclaimer! When incorporating serums be careful. Some serums do not work well together. When I target certain areas of my face I usually dedicate certain nights to different serums. Do not combine everything at once! Simplicity is important when it comes to your skin!

What is so special about serums you ask? Why use them? Well applying serums is my favourite part of my skincare routine. The reason why is because, serums have higher concentration of active ingredients which helps improve specific skin concerns. That is why often times, serums are the more expensive item in a routine. That is not always true. Below, I highlight my two favourite serums in my routine. The first is inexpensive and the other is a mid range price. Keep reading below!

The Ordinary – Hyaluronic Acid

As you know, moisturizing is different than hydrating your skin. You must hydrate your skin before moisturizing. Hyaluronic acid boosts hydration in your skin and boosts a plump appearance.  There are several Hyaluronic acids on the market that are great for an inexpensive price. The Ordinary Hyaluronic acid is one of them! I find Hyaluronic acid gives my skin the perfect glow. I have dry skin so hydrating my skin is very necessary! Make sure when applying Hyaluronic acid that your skin is already damp. When you skin is damp it will seal in moisture. I have found if my skin is not damp my skin will peel the next day.

Dr. Jart Cicapair Tiger Grass Serum

This item is on the pricy side but is worth it. Magic in a bottle. This product has made me feel more confident about my skin and is honestly an overnight fix. Now, my skin isn’t clear but this product does calm down my redness. The serum claims that it helps to strengthen the skins barrier. One of the main ingredient is Cicabond.  Cicabond is an ingredient that come from an ivy. Yes, that freaked me out too when I read that. The Ivy helps to rebuild damaged skin. Having a serum like this in a cold climate is essential. I would say the minor downside about the ingredients of this product is that, it does include some fragrance. There are some essential oils included. Normally, I would not like this. I have sensitive skin so fragrance can be irritating to me. However, I have not had an issue with this product. I have repurchased countless bottles of this and would consider this product a holy grail!

Which serums work best for you? Tell me in the comments down below! Happy Skincare!
