Most Used Eye Shadow Palettes

The above photo was taken with no intensions for wanting to look “pretty” I really do use these palettes and this is what they tend to look like when they have been loved.

Urban Decay

OG Naked Palette

This is a holy grail product. Yes, I know it has been discontinued so I was hesitant to include this but had to mention it. All the positive reviews around this product were 100% accurate. The colour pay off, the colour combinations in this palette are just the best in the game. My go to colours in this palette are: Naked, Buck, Side Car, Sin & Dark horse. Dark House is a beautiful colour for underneath your lower lash line and as eye liner on the lid. Naked is the ideal transitional shade! Naked is used in every eye look I do whether for a natural eye look or full glam. As you can see Creep (the black shade) does have the most fall out but that seems to be the case with darker shades. As mentioned earlier, I did not want to include this palette because you cannot purchase this certain palette any longer but the OG Urban Decay is worth shouting out! They have some of these famous colours in newer palettes that you can certainly check out!

Lorac

Pro Palette

I would have done anything to try to get my hands on this palette. This is the type of palette that is one and done. You do not need another palette as long as you have this one. So versatile. Worth every penny. This colour pay off is unlike any other palette I have ever owned. As you can see the colour I have loved and miss the most is Taupe. This colour worked so well with my skin tone as a transitional shade. If Lorac sold this colour as one pan I would buy them all. That colour is a staple. Best Matte shades I have ever used. Honourable mention shades are Espresso, Mauve, Cream, Lt Bronze, Black & Deep Purple. The packaging of the palette is sleek, thin and super light absolutely great for travel! This palette is everything.

Why I Stopped Using Makeup Wipes

There are several reasons why I have stopped using Makeup wipes.

  1. I was getting lazy
  2. I realized I was causing more risk of potential wrinkles
  3. My Skin Felt Dry
  4. I felt wasteful

I noticed I was slipping into a routine where I would use the excuse that I was tired and had makeup wipes on my bedside and using that as my “cleanser” in a sense at night. I wouldn’t wash my face every night which is obviously, not okay for my skin.

As I am getting older obviously wrinkles start to show so I noticed I was being rough with my skin. With rubbing the wipe excessively, and moving the wipe around can cause wrinkles. So, now that I am young I can still prevent wrinkles. Let’s all be gentle with our skin.

The gross feeling of the after effect of the makeup wipe on your skin ended up being one of my pet peeves. My skin felt dry and I hated the chemical smell on my skin. My skin gets inflamed and red. When rubbing something on it like a makeup wipe it was not helping my redness. I just figured I could find something else to take my makeup off that would be more soothing for my skin.

I noticed I used the wipe to take off liner from underneath my eyes and there would be barely anything on it then I would throw it away. I try everyday to not be wasteful, especially in today’s climate.

This post isn’t against Nivea. The pictured wipes in this post happens to be the one’s I had left over. For me at the time I felt like I could not find the “perfect” makeup wipe and guess what? I didn’t. Makeup wipes were not working for me and my sensitive skin.

Top Products I Can’t Live Without

Cicapair Tiger Grass Serum

Dr. Jart+

Worth every penny. This is not an inexpensive item. When I first purchased this I thought, “I better not love this item because if I did that could get expensive…” but honestly I was so upset with my skin and I would have paid anything to help it. I have red cheeks with bumps. The real word for what I have on my face is a form of Keratosis Pilaris… ya try saying that 3x fast. This product has made me feel more confident about my skin and is honestly an overnight fix. Now, my skin isn’t clear but this product does calm down my redness. Side note, I have tried the face cream of this same line and I did not like the consistency at all. If you want a further review on the face cream, let me know in the comments, down below.

CC Cream

IT Cosmetics

I am the type of person that does not like the feeling of foundation on my skin but I also didn’t like how some CC creams felt like a weird thick sunscreen on your face. This product is magic. Light weight and yet medium to full coverage. It is quite buildable. I have not gone back to another foundation since wearing this product & I have worn this product for 2 years now. Applying other products on top like blush, bronzer, highlighter all have applied seamlessly with this foundation.

Gentle Cleansing Soap Bar

Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing Soap Bar

I use this bar every single day. I have one in my shower and one at my sink. This is what I use to take my makeup off and to cleanse my face at night and in the morning. My eyes do not get irritated from this bar and my skin feels so clean after using it. Highly recommend.

Agave+ Lip Night Time Vegan Therapy

BITE Beauty

This lip balm is something I have been using for a little under a year and it has become my everyday staple. It makes my lips super soft & glossy. I will wear this to replace any lip stick or lip gloss while going out now. I know it does say night time lip therapy but, I really do use it whenever I think my lips need a little boost. There is not much scent to it. It does smell like agave but very faintly.

What I Have Tried From RMS Beauty

RMS Beauty

Lip2cheek – In Illusive

This blush makes you look like the colour comes from within. It is a beautiful colour and does last on the skin. A little does go a long way. It blends nicely in the skin. With this product I have found that blending with my fingers it does apply better to my face. I will have to admit. I just can’t get away from my powder blushes. I do not necessary prefer powder on my skin because I do have dry skin, but when using Mac & Nars blushes for a long time it’s hard not to go back to old favourites.

RMS Beauty

Living Luminizer

This is by far my favourite product, so far, from RMS. I was a bit weary of the colour because it looks like a cool tone based product. It is a pearl white. Typically with my olive skin tone I do not tend to gravitate towards cool tone products. This product is magic and will work with any skin colour. This just brings an extra healthy glow to your face. Where I like to put this product on, is the tip of my nose and on the cheek bones. The other places of the face that I have used this product on is my brow bone and the centre of my eyelid on top of other eye shadow. Another bonus about RMS Beauty products is that there are no scents to them. Highly recommend this product for everyday use.

RMS Beauty

Bronzer – Buriti

This is a great bronzer but I must admit I use this more as an eyeshadow than a bronzer. This is beautiful on the eye lid for that one swipe of colour. What I love about RMS is that their products are multipurpose for the girl on the go. I am not sure if they claim their products can be used for different parts on the face, so do not take this advice as fact. Please be careful and apply product the way you feel most comfortable applying to different parts of your face. This is just what I do. There is some shimmer to the product so I was skeptical about using this as an actual bronzer but it just adds such a beautiful glow to the skin.
